A Little Bit of Everything (and Exactly What I Needed)

Today was one of those days — the kind where nothing feels rushed, everything feels intentional, and by the end of it you can honestly say: yes, I did some good things today and it was a cozy winter day as well.

It’s chilly out, so anything that involved moving or turning on the oven felt like a win right from the start.

I kicked things off with a quick 30-minute “walk” on my rebounder. No freezing sidewalks, no icy wind — just bouncing my way into warmth and calling it cardio. Honestly? Highly recommend on cold days.

Somewhere between bouncing and baking, I booked my first solo getaway of the series: one full week in Trinidad del Mar, Cuba. And let me just say — some ladies want glitz and glam under the Christmas tree…
I want a week on a Cuban beach. 🌴
Sun, sand, and solo peace? Yes please. I’m officially pumped.

The kitchen stayed busy after that. I baked an apple pie as a special order for a wonderful older lady I occasionally bake for — one of those quiet joys that just feels good to do. Then it was on to brown butter sugar cookies for tonight’s dart-night potluck Christmas event. Butter browning, oven humming, house warming up — exactly what this cold day needed.

If you’re curious, this is the cookie recipe I used (and highly recommend):

By the end of the day, I had movement, travel plans, baked goods, and that deeply satisfying feeling that everything just came together.

Honestly, this is the kind of day I love most — warm ovens, warm thoughts, big dreams, and small accomplishments that add up to something really good. 💛
