Ignite Lifestyle

Bowl of strawberries and water bottles representing a simple healthy routine - Ignite Lifestyle

Ignite Lifestyle is my space for sharing the honest side of my comeback journey—fitness, menopause, gut health, and rebuilding strength from the inside out.

I’m 57, semi-retired, navigating post–gallbladder removal eating challenges, moderate hip arthritis, menopause, SAD, and a few surprises I didn’t see coming.

This is not a perfect “fitness page.”
This is real life.
This is me starting again.
And if you’re here, maybe you’re starting again too.

Ignite Lifestyle is my space to figure out midlife wellness in real time — without the pressure to “bounce back,” “snap out of it,” or pretend everything is easy.

I’m learning what my body needs now, not what it needed at 25.
I’m rebuilding strength with hip arthritis.
I’m learning how to eat after gallbladder removal.
I’m navigating menopause without losing myself.
I’m managing SAD and choosing more sunshine whenever possible.

This isn’t a perfect transformation story.
It’s a real one.

And the whole purpose of this space is simple:

✨ To share what’s helping me
✨ To be honest about what isn’t
✨ To inspire women 45+ to take care of themselves
✨ To remind you that it’s never too late to start again

This phrase has carried me through more seasons of life than I can count.
It’s my reminder that strength doesn’t always look like lifting heavy weights or running up mountains.
Sometimes it looks like wakinga up and deciding to try again — gently, slowly, on your own terms.

Midlife has taught me that our bodies change, our energy changes, our routines change…
but our ability to begin again never goes away.

Ignite Lifestyle isn’t about perfection or transformation.
It’s about:

  • rebuilding when life knocks you down
  • listening to your body
  • taking care of yourself in a new way
  • choosing small steps over impossible expectations
  • giving yourself grace
  • celebrating progress you can actually feel

If you are also in a season of starting over — in your health, your routines, your confidence, or your life — this space is for you.

We don’t chase “the old us” here.
We create the stronger, wiser version who’s ready for everything that comes next.

Fitness looks different for me now — and I’m learning to embrace that.
I have moderate hip arthritis, a body that doesn’t bounce back the way it used to, and a long list of foods that no longer agree with me.

Losing my gallbladder changed my entire relationship with food.
Add in menopause, gut sensitivities, and the joy of reading every food label like it’s a mystery novel, and you can imagine how fun grocery shopping has become.

Menopause came with more plot twists than my 20’s ever did.

And because I live in Canada — land of the long winter — I also manage Seasonal Affective Disorder.

This is where I share the unfiltered humor of menopause brain, winter SAD-season mood swings, and all the “is this normal at my age?” moments that keep life interesting.
