A quick Cuba check in

I wanted to share a quick on-the-ground Cuba check in, because I know there’s been a lot of noise lately about Cuba — and sometimes it’s hard to know what’s real and what’s just headlines.

Here’s the honest version from someone actually here 👇

✔️ Cuba is open and operating
✔️ No major shortages where I am
✔️ Power outages? Yes — but brief and quickly resolved
✔️ Food has been solid with good variety
✔️ Resorts are sitting around 50–60% capacity (and this is high season)

There’s been a lot of talk lately about shortages, advisories, and concerns tied to the current U.S./Venezuela situation. I can only speak from personal experience — but what I’m seeing feels very much like… normal Cuba.

As always, I’m taking precautions:
• using bug spray daily
• staying hydrated
• being mindful of food choices
• enjoying things for what they are, not what social media says they should be

And honestly?
No mosquitoes so far in this area (which I was definitely bracing for 😅).

I came here without big expectations — just needing sun, warmth, and a reset — and I’m really glad I did. A week on the beach, a slower pace, warm evenings… sometimes that’s exactly what the soul needs.

Someone told me before I left that Memories Trinidad del Mar is a “diamond in the rough” — and I’d have to agree.

More details coming once I’m home and can properly sit down and write everything out… but for now, this is your little check-in from Cuba ☀️
